[ Even though Kusanagi continues say to not hesitate in asking questions, Eric keeps his mouth shut. The way he was explaining things was more then enough for him to get the gist of everything. He was better at explaining then those in Hikawa, and a lot easier to follow.
Though by the end, Eric blushes as his stomach growls loudly. The pork cutlets were smelling pretty good now and he hadn't eaten anything since early that morning ]
[Hearing Eric's stomach growl has Izumo chuckling, taken pleasantly by surprised by the sound.
He gives his hair a small ruffle before dropping his hand in order to fetch the plates from the cabinets. As he walks back over, he hands Eric a plate.] Seems like all the work finally got t'ya. Let's eat.
[ Slowly, he takes the cutlet and rice and puts it on his plate. He tilts his head before he decides to add those things to Kusanagi's plate as well. Manners, he knew them a bit.
He forgets his itadakimasu as he puts a way too big spoonful in his mouth, dribbling back onto the plate and onto his face. He jumps, eyes wide. ]
I, really made this?
[ He had been expecting really bad taste or...something. But, it was good, he liked it. ]
[Izumo watches him plate his food, a tiny bit surprised before it's masked away. Still, he smiles, waiting for him to finish.
He notices the lack of 'itadakimasu', but doesn't say anything. It's easy to forget, so there's no harm done for now.
Izumo watches his reaction as Eric takes the bite, his smile widening just a bit at seeing the pleasant surprise on his face.] Yes, ya did. How d'ya like it?
[ He looks away blushing like he just confessed a secret. Playing with his fork he gave out a small mumble. ]
...It's good.
[ He looks up at Kusanagi, he hadn't tried it yet. What if only he liked it and Kusanagi didn't? He needed to know if it was good or not from someone else because what if he was wrong? ]
[ He's a little nervous, a little scared that he would say he hated. What would happen if he did? He'd be fine of course, but the small voice in his head still nagged him.
When the other smiles he jumps a little, it is good? It's really good for a first try? ]
Really. [Just to prove it, he takes another bite, a pleased sound escaping from him.
When he swallows, he reaches over with a free hand to pat Eric on the head again, his smile widening slightly.] But if ya don't believe me, we can always ask Anna ta try, too.
[Because Anna, if ever, rarely lies. She has that blunt quality that Mikoto has, after all.]
[ After the meal Eric trails after Kusanagi, following the clean up and watching him take care of the rest of the food, trying to learn how to do all of that anyways. Extra food? So unreal. ]
[He doesn't mind Eric watching, subtly doing it slow enough for him to be able to see everything perfectly.]
D'ya mind washing the dishes for me? [Izumo...can't really recall if Eric's learned how to do that yet, but if not, well - that's just another thing to learn.]
[ He nods, reaching fro and grabbing one of them. his hands soapy and wet, however made it difficult to grab the handle properly. He lost his grip on it and it went crashing to the ground, Eric bringing his hands to his ears and jumping at the bang. Opening his eyes back up he saw the pot on the floor, not damaged but with some of it's contents spilled on the floor. ]
I...I didn't...
[ He didn't mean to was what he wanted to say, and that he was sorry but nothing came out after that. ]
[It's like watching everything going in slow motion. He just barely reaches out to catch the pot before it crashed onto the floor, the contents spilling out.
There's an urge in him to do something (probably scold him), but he holds it back, knowing it wouldn't be good - or wise - to do that to Eric. He just made progress with him, he's not about to lose it.
Shaking his head, Izumo places the food containers on the counter before he bends down to pick up the pot, making sure nothing spills out more.] 's okay. Next time, make sure your hands aren't too soapy or wet when ya grab the handles. 's just an accident, so no harm done.
[Other than the dirty floor, but that can easily be cleaned up.] D'ya wanna continue washing or clean up the floor? [He's going to give Eric options; he doesn't want to force him to do anything.]
[ He nods a few times, calming down a bit. He was getting a bit better, but still those worries lingered and being prepared for anything. And he knew how Kusanagi reacts to things about his bar. ]
S-sorry...
[ A small mumble, watching him pick up the pot. And choices! He hated choosing, which one was better? He didn't know!! ]
Uhm...I can...still do the dishes. If that's okay...But I can still clean the floor after!
[ He didn't want to leave things for Kusanagi, he had already done so much if he could do both that would be fine. ]
I don't want ya ta push yourself, Eric. [And he's being genuine in that.
Izumo may punish the boys if they damage his bar, but that's usually reserved for the rowdy ones, like Yata.
He places the pot in the sink again, giving the younger man a look.] Just focus on the dishes and I'll get the floor. Ya can do something else for me ta make up for dropping the pot.
[ Some ideas are still hard to grasp, like knowing Yata would get hit for something but others might not even for the same thing.
He looks from Kusanagi to the sink and just restarts his washing, feeling bad for what happened. He nods for the last part. It won't be too bad, Kusanagi was never that harsh to him, which he was grateful for if not terribly confused by it. ]
[While Eric gets back to cleaning, Izumo goes off to fetch the mop and bucket, knowing he had to clean it up before the smell gets too much and stains are on the floor.
When he comes back, he works in relative silence, not too awkward and peaceful. Every now and then, he glances at Eric to see how he's doing.]
[ Eric tries to only pay attention to what he's doing. He probably didn't have to spend so long on the dishes but he wanted to make sure they were extra clean to make up for his mishap.
He grabs the pots after much more carefully and sets to work on them as well, making sure to get every last bit of food off of them. Finished at last he drained the water as he placed the last pot to dry, sighing in relief that nothing else had happened.
He turned around and waited for Kusanagi to look a bit more free so as not to disturb him before speaking up quietly ]

You're sure?

'm sure. Ya made it, too, so ya should at least try your own cooking. [Its a habit Izumo's determined to break, albeit slowly. This is a good start.]

I-Itadakimasu.
