[How many times can we fall?]

[It's been a week since they've managed to escape.

Neither of them knew who tipped someone off about their location, who helped them escape while everything became hacked and otherwise useless in keeping them contained. It had been their downfall to let Izumo stay in the frontline, his skills almost legendary now with how effective of an assassin he has become over time. Their downfall led to their deaths, and Izumo has ran away with Eric while the remnants of that group tried to go after them.

They didn't know where to go - who to turn to.

For them, this open world was a mystery, even if Izumo has more experience than Eric when it came to the outside world. There's no one they could trust, and little to no money to their name since their captors often took the money Izumo's earned for his kills. But Izumo is adaptable, taking odd jobs here and there in order to earn enough money to save up and find a place to stay.

It's only been a couple of days ago when Izumo first ran into the leader of HOMRA, the Red King and him having traded blows before it came to a tie. They went their separate ways shortly after when an informant came running towards them, Izumo having escaped before he could be questioned.

Now, he had taken Eric to a refuge in a motel. It's small and not one of the best, but it's the best Izumo could afford on such short notice when it became obvious to him when Eric has to rest again.

His right shoulder blade itched from the burns he received from Mikoto, but he ignores it in favor of in-between watching Eric sleep and looking out the window from his perch on the windowsill.]

[ He pats his brothers arm in comfort, reassuring him there was nothing wrong or bad happening.

Soon their name is called and Eric helps him towards the doctors room. But he's not allowed to stay as the examination happens so he waits outside with Totsuka]

[Izumo's mostly cooperative as the doctor checks on his eyes.

There's a feeling of trepidation inside of him as he waits for the results.

It was good.

Izumo nearly slumps in relief as the doctor informs him that his eyes are healing just fine, perhaps a few more days before his vision is back to normal, though he's been prescribed some medicinal eye drops to help ease the transition better.]

[ The doctor comes out and explains the update to Totsuka and Eric perks up in happiness. He's so glad that his brother was going to be okay and all better.

They can go through it. They can begin to heal again. Izumo won't have to be scared of the constant darkness anymore. His brother will be okay. ]

[Soon enough, Izumo comes out, a slight smile on his face.

Totsuka smiles brightly at him, congratulating him on getting better.]

[ Eric goes over to his brother and congratulates him as well, giving him a hug ]

So glad for you Izumo.

[He wraps his arms around eric in return, utterly relieved.]

Just a little longer and I'll be completely healed.

Good. It will do you good to be all healed up.

[ His brother is going to be okay. Master's okay. Good, he helped like a good dog. ]

Do you want to stay here longer, or go right back home?

[ He might want to see Miyabi after its been awhile. He can wait. Wait like a good dog for his master to come by...Wait for his brother to visit his friend. ]

It'd be good for you, too.

[He pauses, glancing down the hallway before looking at the blur that is his brother and Totsuka.]

Will that be okay?

[ The two of them nodded, Eric letting go of the hug ]

Totsuka said we can drop you off where she lives and then go off exploring the city, while you two catch up.

As long as it's fine with you two.

[Itd be...nice to catch up with Miyabi. He's only gotten a handful of calls from her when she called to check up on him.]

Yeah, we don't mind at all.

[ Totsuka pitched in saying that if he wanted to get rid of them, they could pick him up tomorrow, giving him a wink. Eric blinked in confusion as he looked back at his brother. ]

Do you need that much time to catch up?

[Izumo hits Totsuka on the head, scolding him quietly.

He soon turns his attention to Eric.]

No. Just a couple of hours will do.

[ Eric tilts his head, wondering why Totsuka was hit but he didn't mind. It just meant that he would stay away fro a couple of hours and not half a day. He grabbed hold of Izumo's arm. ]

Sure, I'll help you back to the car.

[When he feels Eric grab his arm, he gives a nod, shooting Totsuka a glare.]

[ Totsuka just laughs, rubbing his head sheepishly as Eric leads Izumo back to the car.

Its not long after that they've arrived at Miyabi's place. Eric opens his brother's door and steadies him out. ]

Just call when you're done, okay?

I will. Make sure to keep Totsuka out of trouble.

[Miyabi is already there to greet them, and she bows to Totsuka and Eric in greeting.]

[ Eric hid behind his brother, gripping his sleeve a bit at the new face that was there. He gave her a nod in greeting, if she could see it or not, he didn't care. He still wasn't used to new people, let alone women. ]

...Okay.

[ He quickly goes back into the car, waiting for Totsuka to come back. Totsuka warmly greets the girl, tells her to take good care of Izumo before joining Eric in the car. They wave to him before driving off. ]

[The two hours fly by.

Izumo and Miyabi had mostly spent the time catching up, trying to figure out what to do now before agreeing to keep in touch and call each other once in a while.

Izumo didn't want to involve her in their life, and she didn't want to be caught in any trouble they might find themselves in.

It was Miyabi who made the call to Totsuka since Izumo still couldn't see the names clearly enough.]

[ Totsuka treated Eric to a small lunch while they drove around, looking at a few things here and there before he got the call.

They arrive back at her place in a half an hour, Totsuka coming out to greet them both again while Eric remained inside the car, fidgeting with his sleeves. ]

[Izumo thanks Miyabi quietly with Totsuka giving her a last bow before he leads Izumo back to the car, Miyabi waving at them.

He settles back inside the car, acutely aware of Eric's presence.]

Eric?

Yeah?

[ He gives a small wave to Miyabi but jumps a bit when Izumo calls his name. ]

Hm, nothing.

[He simply wanted to know if his brother is still there.

But Totsuka's in the driver's seat again and with one last wave to Miyabi, drives off back to their city.]

Okay...

[ He touches his arm, just to say he is here, before he went to staring out the window as they went back to their home. ]

[Eyes sliding close, Izumo takes comfort from his brother's presence beside him.

It'd be their last chance together before they'll have to be separated.]

[ They arrive back to the bar in mostly silence but greeted by enthusiastic friends. After hearing the good news of Izumo's eyesight returning there were pats on the back and drinks handed out.

Eric stayed for a while before heading upstairs and going into his room, feeling a bit overwhelmed today. Fujishima comes up a few minutes after and stays with him, talking to him but not really getting any responses. ]
